Low-cost Christmas on the cards as Aussies seek cashbacks

Seventy-four per cent of Aussies are actively seeking shopping bargains, deals and cashbacks right now, Westpac research shows. This is while they are experiencing financial hardship due to the high cost of living.

In a bid to make it easier for shoppers, Westpac is integrating cashback offers from ShopBack into the Westpac Mobile Banking App. ShopBack is the largest cashback and rewards platform in the Asia-Pacific, offering Australians cashback on purchases at more than 4,000 online, in-store and gift card brands, including household brands like Chemist Warehouse, Amazon, The ICONIC, and eBay.

“With almost a third of Australians planning to use cashback to help cut back costs this Christmas, we’ve integrated ShopBack offers into the Westpac App to make it even easier for customers to access cashback on their online shopping purchases,” said managing director, consumer finance at Westpac, Steve Rubenstein.

Westpac partnered with the ShopBack group in December 2022 and since then its customers have received more than $12 million in cashbacks from purchases made through the ShopBack website.
